Other Preferences
General |
Facility. Field to enter an optional facility name, which will appear as the top line of a three line entry below all TEM images. The word "Facility" does not appear in the image, so this could be used as a general comment field if desired. The facility entry will appear only in images acquired after an entry is made, and cannot be edited in Revolution after acquisition.
Comments. Field to enter an optional comment line, which will appear as the bottom line of a three line entry below all TEM images. The comments entry will appear only in images acquired after an entry is made, but it can be edited in Revolution after acquisition. Edit the line by right-clicking on the acquired or preview image and select Edit Comments. This field can be used to preload the operator name, stub number, etc.
Format. Allows you to select the type (format) for the saved TEM image files, independently of any other images, x-ray maps, or color phase maps.

Owner. Allows you to select the owner for TEM images, independently of any other images, x-ray maps, or color phase maps. Windows uses 3-letter extensions to specify the owner. Macintosh uses an invisible 4-character resource (the creator) to specify the owner.

Save as Displayed. Saves the image to disk exactly as it looks on the computer screen. This is useful if you have applied custom scaling to the raw image data and want to preserve the appearance. Warning: this checkbox will rescale the original data to new values - the original data will be lost!
Live Update. Causes the TEM image to be displayed on screen as it is transferred from the CCD camera.
Mirror Horizontal Axis. Reverses the horizontal axis for all TEM images acquired after the checkbox is set.
Mirror Vertical Axis. Reverses the vertical axis for all TEM images acquired after the checkbox is set.
CCD Offset. Sets a row or column offset to avoid guard pixels in the CCD hardware. Values are limited to ±10 rows/columns. Hold the option key (Mac) or alt key (Windows) down while opening the TEM Image prefs to access these settings. Note: this value is set as part of the installation procedure and should not be changed without consulting 4pi technical support.
